Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) is five years USAID funded project starting June 2013 with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education (DoE) throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of at least 1.3 million children in grade one and two. The goal will be supported by three interrelated components including improved classroom learning environment for reading, improve policies and systems for reading and community based support for reading in Pakistan. The anticipated results include 23,800 teachers in 23,800 public schools with improved skills in teaching reading, 3,649 scholarships for ADE and B.Ed (Hons) students, mobile bus libraries reaching out to 300 communities.

Job Overview/Summary

ICT Associate will be responsible for assisting in the overall management of the day-to-day activities related  to ICT in In-Service CPD; works with the help desk staff providing assistance to tablet users. Monitor content deployment, tablet distribution and support related issues and generate weekly, monthly and quarterly report.

·         Manage tablet inventory and coordinate with regional IT managers on distribution update.

·         Maintain log of content deployment and develop progress report.

·         Verify tablet beneficiaries data and generate report.

·         Maintain warranty claims and coordinate with vendor and district team.

·         Maintain Service Level Agreement and ensure compliance.

·         Manage Service Desk Portal and generate report on the status of reported issues.

·         Manage Content Delivery Portal and update content and inform project staff and beneficiaries.

·         Maintain stock of tablets and generate weekly inventory report.

·         Issue tablets for project activities and ensure return after the completion of activity.

·         Optimize content for different devices.

·         Develop interactive content for Android devices.

·         Assist ICT Officer on SMS Server, SharePoint Portals and Data Analysis.

Major Responsibilities:

The individual ought to have the capacity to perform the subsequent assignments:

-          Excellent knowledge of Android Tablets

-          Must have knowledge of Android Apps and Content Delivery.

-          Should have basic knowledge on Animation Principles.

-          Must be aware of industry standard software and trends.

-          Should have knowledge of animation.

-          Must have knowledge of inventory system.

·         Must have hands on experience on content delivery in low bandwidth areas.

·         Excellent knowledge of  ICT/IT Systems

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/IT or bachelor’s degree in any discipline with one year diploma in ICT with one year experience in related field.

·         Creativity

·         Self-Starter

·         Problem solving – ability to solve issues using own initiative

·         Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

 Language Skills:  Written and spoken knowledge in English, Pashto and Urdu
